Don’t overdo it. When you get dressed up you want it to be a really special occasion so don’t throw on a great shirt every single day and stun everybody, otherwise it just becomes expected.
So most of the time you want to stick with the basic casual clothing, jeans and a nice t-shirt or polo while making sure to follow all of the rules of having a matching pair of shoes, etc. But every few days you should throw on that nice button down shirt to stun the crowd.

Sweat pants are comfortable, easy fitting and cozy so they are definitely easy to add to your wardrobe. Sweat pants are not terrible to wear if you are working out or sitting at home alone having a lazy day but those are about the only two times it is okay to wear them.
When you think about sweat pants you think of dirty, smelly, sweaty, out of shape fat guys so whether you really are or not just don’t wear them if you are big because that is automatically what people think when they see guys wearing sweat pants and especially big guys wearing sweat pants to just avoid it all together.
It really does not matter what kind of sweat pants either. There are actually several different kinds to choose from; there are those giant, bulky cotton ones, those nylon ones that are like snow pants, pants for a track suit, all kinds.
Like I said, sweat pants are quite comfortable so wearing them when you are sitting around by yourself there is nothing wrong and if you are working out or playing sports, sure, throw a pair on but if you’re going out stick with jeans or khakis and honestly wear jeans more than anything because Khakis should be for more special occasions.

Generally, people who are bigger always try to stick with dark colors, mostly black, because it is more slimming. The reason dark clothes make you look smaller is because black shirts make everything blend in and you cannot tell where the shirt hugs your body and you cannot tell where any shadows are.
But there is no reason that you have to just stick with black shirts to look good, bright colors and pastels are definitely very nice to look at, more than just a black shirt. Now, this is not to say that wearing a canary yellow shirt all the time is a great idea but you can definitely mix it up every now and them.
Generally if I go out to a night club or a bar I will wear a dark color, usually black, with darker jeans but the reason is not to make myself look slimmer for all of the ladies there but because it is usually a dark place with that could have black light so you will just glow and stand out too much if you wear a bright red or orange shirt. Just make sure that your black shirt is completely clean because like the late comedian Mitch Hedberg said: everybody looks cool under black light except for him because he was under the impression that the mustard stain was out.

You have probably heard it many times before: wearing horizontal stripes only make you look bigger so never wear them. That is true but it is a huge generalization. Thick horizontal stripes will make you look bigger, yes, so do not wear them, but thinner horizontal stripes may not. Honestly, the same thing goes with vertical stripes, if it is a very thick stripe down your shirt then it is going to make you look bigger but thin stripes are always fine when they run up and down.
Here is the thing about stripes – the more material there is on the shirt the longer the stripe is so if you wear a big shirt then the stripe is going to be bigger but it really depends on the kinds of stripes. Getting a polo shirt with some thin horizontal stripes, maybe a couple of thin horizontal stripes on the shirt, will not look bad and will not make you look bigger but if you over do it with the stripes and start dressing like a pack of fruit stripe gum then you have an issue and the same thing goes for vertical stripes.

Jeans are popular, comfortable, easy to find, and fairly affordable so to make jeans an essentially part of your wardrobe only makes sense. However, jeans and also be very boring or even look nerdy or sloppy if not done right. I wear jeans all the time and when chosen properly they can be fashionable. Generally, I go with frosted jeans. You may not know exactly what frosted jeans are but you have seen them; those are the jeans with a darker color but a faded look on the thighs. Those are definitely the kinds of jeans that I look for because they look very cool but they are also very versatile.
Most people assume that blue jeans go with everything but that cannot be further from the truth. Jeans match clothes just like everything else. If you have a very dark blue jean, wearing certain colors could just not go well with them and the same goes for jeans that have a very light color to them but frost jeans give you the best of both worlds, they give you the dark color but the light color at the same time and they go with a lot of different colors.

Guys, I know it is time consuming, I know it is annoying, and I know that it can sometimes be discouraging but always make sure you try your clothes on before you by them. Nobody is shaped the exact same (maybe a few identical twins are the exception) yet clothing sizes are very general. Listen, I wear the same size shirts as my dad and my cousin but none of us are shaped anywhere near the same and not everything my dad has that fits him fits me. No company is going to make a shirt or pants in every single possible shape and size; it just would not be possible or reasonable for them to do that so unless you want to get custom-tailored clothing you just have to deal with blanket sizes that fit general builds of people.
